Meet Fall River Forever Paws Pet of the Week Barney!

Barney is a young adult tuxedo almost going on two years old. He’s a medium hair with fluff and whiskers for days!

Cats in general are sensitive creatures who take shelter life in vastly different ways. There are some who are happy to have a roof over their head and a consistent meal, others who have no idea where they are and why they’re not home anymore. Barney is the latter. He’s had a LOT of change in his year being alive and just isn’t sure how to find his footing. His first week at Forever Paws was spent telling the world how upset he was about losing everything he knew. No aggression, mind you, but plenty of grumbling and grouchiness.

However, with patience and a kind hand, he’s beginning to open up to staff. Liquid treats were the key to softening up the tough guy and opened the door to other forms of interaction. Gentle pets have become accepted with less complaining and he’s even shown FP a playful side! While he’s still in the process of opening up, they fully believe in the right home he’ll show you his true colors.

On that note, they’re hoping to place him in a quiet home. No kids under twelve and no dogs.

Barney is currently hanging out at Bajah’s Cat Cafe in Tiverton! Head on over to https://www.bajahscatcafe.com/ to make a reservation with them and hang out with Barney and some other awesome cats!
