Fall River woman who taught in the Fall River School system for over three decades has passed away
A Fall River woman who gave decades of service touching the lives of countless children has died.
Brenda (Burrows) Lopes passed away on Tuesday.
According to an obituary, Brenda was a Durfee grad who dedicated “34 years of her career as a Special Education teacher with the Fall River School Department, where she touched countless lives through her patience, compassion, and commitment to her students. While raising her family and caring for her husband, she achieved both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees—an accomplishment that reflected her strength, determination, and belief in lifelong learning.”
She was an active and dedicated member of the Westport Yacht Club and the Junior League, and will be remembered for her beautiful smile, strength, selflessness, intelligence, and boundless love.
Visitation will be Friday, January 9th, from 4 PM to 7 PM at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River. Her funeral will be Saturday, January 10th at 9:00 AM from the Funeral Home, with a Funeral Mass at Holy Name Church, Hanover St. at 10 AM.
Burial to follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
