Fall River woman who dedicated over three decades to B.M.C. Durfee High School passes away
A Fall River woman well known throughout the community has died.
According to an obituary, 73-year-old Rose Marie Swenson passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday.
“For more than three decades, Rose Marie dedicated her life to the students of the Fall River Public Schools, serving as a Librarian Teacher Assistant at B.M.C. Durfee High School. Her love of learning, patient guidance and caring presence made her a beloved figure for generations of the city’s youth and colleagues alike.”
Rose Marie was known for embodying Fall River’s grit & resiliency, compassion and deep sense of community.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass which will be held Thursday, November 20 at 10:00 AM at Holy Name Church, Hanover St. Fall River. (Please meet directly at the church) Burial to follow at St. Patrick Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Greater Boston Food Bank, in honor of Rose Marie’s lifelong spirit of generosity and care for others.
