Fall River woman sentenced to prison after reported drug transaction at SouthCoast Marketplace
A Fall River woman was sentenced Monday concerning several drug charges.
According to Det. Sergeant Moses Pereira, in November, the Vice, Gang, and Intelligence Unit conducted a surveillance operation in the South End of the city.
During that operation, detectives observed a drug transaction take place in the Southcoast Marketplace.
29-year-old Ashley Cabral was arrested and charged with possession to distribute a class A drug, trafficking in 18 grams or more, less than 36 grams of cocaine, trafficking in 200 grams or more of methamphetamine.
Cabral’s arrest resulted in the seizure of 144 blue glassine bags containing fentanyl, 11.46 grams of crack cocaine, 12.11 grams of cocaine, 293.94 grams of methamphetamine, 52 assorted prescription pills, and $490 in cash.
On Monday afternoon in Fall River Superior Court, Cabral was sentenced to not less than 4 years to not more than 5 years after pleading guilty to possession to distribute a class A drug, trafficking in 18 grams or more, less than 36 grams of cocaine, and a lesser charge of trafficking in 36 grams or more, less than 100 grams of methamphetamine.
