Fall River woman out on bail with history of theft, sentenced for bank robbery after claiming, “it’s something I’ve always wanted to do, at least once”
Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III has issued an update after a 39-year-old, S, Fall River woman pled guilty and was sentenced in the Fall River Superior Court to serve a State Prison sentence of 2.5 to 3 years in State Prison for an Unarmed Robbery. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Gillian Kirsch.
On 6/25/25, Stephanie Farley walked into Bay Coast Bank in Fall River and handed the teller a note that read, “this is a robbery, give me all your money”. The teller provided the suspect with $500 in cash. The female suspect left the bank, met up with a male co-defendant on the street and the two fled the scene together. Video surveillance showed the suspect and co-defendant together 30 minutes prior to the robbery and returning to the same area after the robbery. Video of the robbery and surveillance video from a store video after the robbery showed the female suspects distinctive tattoos and piercings. A family member of the female suspect identified her from a still image. The defendant identified herself in the store video, in an interview with police, but denied committing the robbery. The defendant at one point spontaneously stated to an officer, “the officer was right, I didn’t take a lot of money. So, I have that going for me. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do, at least once.”
“The defendant is no stranger to the criminal justice system and has a history of theft offenses. She was out on bail on other crimes when she committed this crime. She obviously cannot control herself and is a threat to public safety,” District Attorney Tom Quinn said.
