Fall River woman killed, another critically injured in Taunton crash
A Fall River woman has been killed and another critically injured in a weekend crash in Taunton.
According to Gregg Miliote of the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, 26-year-old Ashley Gouveia, died from the crash.
Gouveia was the driver of the vehicle in the accident which occurred at 3:40 a.m. Saturday at 1916 Bay Street.
Miliote stated that it was a single car crash as the Nissan Murano Gouveia was driving struck a tree.
The passenger, a 24-year-old woman, is at Rhode Island Hospital in critical condition.
Ashley was a single mother who leaves behind a 2-year-old son.
A GoFundMe page was created for funeral service expenses and a college fund for her son. At the time of this writing, the page had raised over $18,700 dollars.
