Fall River woman honored with Myra Kraft Community MVP Award
The true stars were out at Gillette Stadium to be honored for their work in the community.
State Representative Carole Fiola joined Brenda Venice of NAMI, Bristol County MA, and her husband Augie Venice at Gillette Stadium where Brenda received the Myra Kraft Community MVP Award along with $10,000 for NAMI Bristol County.
The event hosted by Robert and Josh Kraft is held annually. Representative Fiola along with Augie Venice were co-nominators of Brenda for her selfless work for those struggling with mental illness.
Venice is the President of the Bristol County, MA chapter of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill. She has been an advocate in the South Coast in aiding those with substance abuse and mental health issues. Brenda was also a member of the Fall River Charter Commission.
Last year, the late “Auntie” Irene Orlando was also a recipient for her work with the Fall River Boys and Girls Club.
