A teenager from the Scholarship City will soon be on the international stage.

17-year-old Diman student Aidan Lambert is set to represent Fall River and the country.

Lambert, who trains at Gillett MMA in Tiverton, won gold at the 2024 WAKO USA National Kickboxing Championships in Orlando, Florida in February due to talent, hard work and dedication. That gold, and another impressive performance in Nashville, has earned him an opportunity that some only dream of.

After his win, Lambert received a ticket to compete on the USA Kickboxing Team at the 2024 WAKO Children, Cadets, and Juniors World Championships.

The event will be held in Budapest, Hungary from August 23 to September 1, 2024, and will host countries from all over the world with competitors competing in all ring sports and tatami disciplines.

According to father, Tom, Aiden is headed to Chicago in 2 weeks for fight camp with team USA before making the trip to Hungary.

Fall River natives and residents have recently been making a name for themselves in the fight game such as Yorgan DeCastro, Tecia (Torres) Pennington, Mitch Raposo, and Connor Matthews. Lambert looks to etch his name while making his own path.

Good luck Aidan. You have already made your city proud win, lose, or draw.
