A Fall River teen was held without bail at his arraignment Monday concerning a Fall River homicide on Rodman Street that occurred on Saturday.

17-year-old Jaylen Anthony Lambert was arrested on murder and other charges in the death of his brother.

According to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, at approximately 12:30 p.m., Fall River Police and EMS responded to the third floor of 983 Rodman Street in Fall River for a report of a male who had been shot inside of the residence.

Upon arrival, police located 20-year-old Jaleale Simmons, a third-floor resident of 983 Rodman Street, who had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. Simmons was transported to St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River where he was pronounced deceased shortly after his arrival.

Lambert who also resides on the third floor of 983 Rodman Street, was charged with Murder, Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, and Possession of a Firearm Without an FID Card.

Lambert pled not guilty on all charges and was held due to a 58A danger request.

The shooting apparently took place after an argument.

The homicide is being investigated by Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, Fall River Police and Homicide Unit prosecutors.

Lambert’s next scheduled court appearance is a probable cause hearing on April 25th.
