A Fall River teen was in a Fall River court on Friday morning.

According to Det. Sergeant Moses Pereira, on September 26th, Detectives assigned to the Vice, Gang, and Intelligence Unit executed a search warrant at an address located on the 100 block of Eighteenth Street.

The target of the search warrant was, 18-year-old, Jovanni Rivera. During the execution of the search warrant, detectives located a loaded Sig Sauer p320 pistol. Rivera, who does not possess a license to carry was placed under arrest and charged with possession of a large capacity firearm, possession of a firearm without an FID card, possession of ammunition without an FID card, receiving stolen property, and resisting arrest.

On November 7th, Rivera was indicted in Fall River Superior Court on the “possession of a large capacity firearm” charge.

On Friday morning, Rivera was arraigned in that same court where he pled not guilty. Rivera was held without bail pending the decision on a dangerousness hearing.

Rivera’s next scheduled court appearance is a pre-trial conference in January.
