Fall River teen arraigned in Superior Court on Murder and other charges concerning death of brother Jaleale Simmons

A Fall River teen was held without bail at his arraignment Thursday in Superior Court concerning a Fall River homicide on Rodman Street.

17-year-old Jaylen Anthony Lambert was arrested in March on murder and other charges in the death of his brother. 

According to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, at approximately 12:30 p.m. on March 15th, Fall River Police and EMS responded to the third floor of 983 Rodman Street in Fall River for a report of a male who had been shot inside of the residence. 

Upon arrival, police located 20-year-old Jaleale Simmons, a third-floor resident of 983 Rodman Street, who had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. Simmons was transported to St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River where he was pronounced deceased shortly after his arrival. 

The shooting allegedly took place after an argument.

Lambert who also resides on the third floor of 983 Rodman Street, was charged with Murder, Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, and Possession of a Firearm Without an FID Card. 

He was indicted in Fall River Superior Court on June 26th.

According to court records, Lambert pled not guilty Thursday on all charges. A 58A dangerousness hearing was also held and is being taken under advisement.

Lambert’s next scheduled court appearance is a pretrial conference on September 5th.
