Fall River teen arraigned in Superior Court concerning murder of 21-year-old New Bedford man

A city teen faced a judge in Fall River Superior Court Thursday concerning the murder of a 21-year-old from New Bedford.

17-year-old Dariell Encarnacion Couvertier of Fall River was arraigned Thursday on a murder charge for the death of Kimberl Gedeon in the area of Bedford and South Seventh Street in New Bedford. He is also facing a Carrying a Firearm Without a License charge.

He pled not guilty and is being held without bail. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for December 4th.

33-year-old William Allen Robinson of Fall River was arraigned in Superior Court on a murder charge Wednesday. He is also facing a Carrying a Firearm Without a License charge.

Robinson pled not guilty and was held without bail. He has a pre-trial conference scheduled for December 10th.

Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III previously announced a series of arrests in connection with the May 26, 2025, murder. In addition to Couvertier and Robinson, the following individuals have also been arrested and arraigned on the following charges related to the homicide. 

18- year-old Elias Ramos of Fall River has been charged with murder, previously arraigned and is held without bail.   

30-year-old Ahkari Jones of New Bedford has been charged with accessory after the fact to murder, previously arraigned and is held on $100,000 cash bail.  Akhari Jones at the time of this case was out on a bail on a New Bedford narcotics case, due to the new offense the court revoked his bail, and he is held without bail on that matter.

19-year-old Nezziah Davis of New Bedford has been charged with assault and battery by discharge of a firearm and carrying a firearm without a license.  She was previously arraigned and is held without bail as a danger.

19-year-old Keyshla Martinez Matta of Fall River has been charged with assault and battery by discharge of a firearm and carrying a firearm without a license.  She was previously arraigned is also held without bail as a danger.

On Monday, May 26, 2025, at approximately 9:10 p.m., New Bedford Police and EMS responded to the area of Bedford Street and South Seventh Street for shots fired. Upon arrival first responders located Gedeon on the sidewalk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Gedeon was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.

This matter is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Matthew Sylvia.
