Fall River School Committee member resigns as principal of Westport Elementary School

WESTPORT, MA – A member of the Fall River School Committee has resigned from his position in another district.

According to Fran Roy, Superintendent of Westport Community Schools, Kevin Aguiar has resigned from his position as Principal of Westport Elementary School, effective Thursday.

Aguiar has served the school community since July 2023.

Roy thanked Aguiar for his service to Westport Elementary School and wished him well in his
future endeavors.

Rumors had recently been swirling concerning Aguiar’s status at the school.

While discussion has spread on social media as to why parents believe Aguiar resigned, when asked, the Westport School District did not release any details surrounding the move.
