Fall River residents may sometimes be rough around the edges, but when someone is in need, they step up
Those in the northeast can be known to have rough and tough personalities and Fall River is no different. However, there is more to that hard exterior.
“The Scholarship City” isn’t known to be part of the wealthiest community, but that hasn’t stopped residents from stepping up.
Fall Riverites are known to sniff out a fake, but when they know someone is truly in need, they will give you the shirt off their back if that is all they have to give, and a recent tragedy is an example of just that.
Fall River Reporter and many other folks shared a GoFundMe fundraiser that has already raised nearly $12,000 as of this writing.
Firefighters Jason Burns and CJ Ponte have been coordinating efforts and making purchases for the families thanks to donations by the Fall River Firefighters Wives Association, Christopher’s, Mr. Chen, and others.
Realtor Pam Laliberte provided info to WSAR to let people know how they can help and has also coordinated efforts.
The Fall River Police Department is donating toys to an 8-year-old who lived in the home.
I’m sure there are also many other folks that have not been mentioned here that have also helped these city residents who lost all they have days before Christmas.
Congratulations Fall River. You have once again shown how big your heart is and letting it glow through that toughness when it counts.
