Fall River Puerto Rican/American restaurant set to open in the coming days
A Fall River restaurant that closed last year is returning in a few days, but at a different location.
El Jibarito, opened in the summer of 2020 at 390 Rhode Island Avenue before closing 3 years later due to personal reasons.
Casa Ive Dominican Cuisine now occupies that spot.
El Jibarito will now be occupying 840 Bedford Street, the former Island Buffet.
The eatery will feature an array of Puerto Rican dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner as it did previously, along with typical American fare. Desserts and sweets will also be found in both American and Puerto Rican style. A kids menu will also be featured.
According to owner Amanda Jimenez Sostre, the new location will have take-out and more seating space in the restaurant as well as outside seating. The menu will also have more variety.
The grand opening is set for June 4 at 11:00 a.m.

I would love to drive to Fall River just for a good old fashioned Puerto Rican plate
Coming from providence not to far but, ever since I moved from New York over here
I haven’t seen a real Puerto Rican restaurant so, I will go and see if it’s worth the ride
If not I won’t go again
Thank you for letting us know that you are opening soon

I know the old restaurant that was there only accepted cash only. So make sure you call first to see if they accept Credit Cards.
