Fall River Police warn of likely scam taking place
Fall River Police have issued the attached photos of an unknown adult male and his vehicle concerning a possible scam.
The pictured male attempted to gain entry into the rear door of a home on Ridge Street, according to police. This male spoke to a resident and identified himself as “from the gas company” and was requesting access to the basement for a meter read. The man was also observed photographing the rear of the residence.
After the man could not provide any form of identification of employment, the resident refused to allow entry and advised the man that the police were going to be contacted. At this point, the man returned to his vehicle and left the area.
Liberty Utilities has stated they did not send a representative to her location.
Notify the FRPD if this man or any other similar incidents occur by contacting them at (508) 676-8511.
