Fall River Police are asking the community to help provide information that will lead to the arrest of a local man.

According to the department, on May 18th, CAST Detectives were made aware of a memorial site that had been vandalized earlier in the early morning. The memorial site on County Street, with candles and written memories, was made for Diamonte Odom, a young man who was lost to gun violence in May of 2023.

Detectives discovered a video posted to social media depicting a male, at 2:27 a.m., purposely smashing candles and destroying the memorial site.

20-year-old William Acosta Abreu was quickly identified through his tattoos in conjunction with the familiarity detectives have of him.

Abreu has multiple warrants for his arrest and is considered dangerous.

On the evening of May 23rd, officers attempted to stop a vehicle containing Abreu. The vehicle sped off, nearly running over one of the officers, police say.

If you have information about William Acosta Abreu’s whereabouts, police ask to contact them through (508) 676-8511 or the Anonymous Tip Line at (508) 672-TIPS (8477).
