Fall River Police respond after emergency evacuation at Boys & Girls Club

Fall River Police responded to a reported threat on Tuesday afternoon.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., a call came into dispatch concerning a threat at the Boys & Girls Club on Bedford Street.

The threat mentioned a bomb.

As police responded to the scene, the building underwent an emergency evacuation with children being held at the Mary Fonseca School, according to a notice issued to parents.

According to police, a coordinated search of the property was conducted with police K9s trained in explosives detection. No suspicious items were located and no detections were made.

The call is believed to be a suspected robocall hoax and remains under investigation to track down the suspect.
