Fall River Police, Fire, and EMS responded to the Gabriel House assisted living facility on Oliver Street at about 9:50 p.m. on July 13th. The first responding companies observed heavy smoke and flames at the front of the building with occupants trapped inside.

On-duty and off-duty personnel rescued numerous occupants including FRPD and off duty firefighters who both had no protective equipment.

The fire claimed 10 lives and injured countless others, however, thanks to responders, many lives were saved.
