Fall River police officer who was placed on leave after an arrest on multiple charges reaches plea deal

An officer with the Fall River Police Department who is on leave after an arrest has reached a plea deal.

According to court records, 34-year-old Marc Correia was arraigned July 12th, 2024, in Fall River District Court and was charged with Felony Witness Intimidation, Misdemeanor Improper Storage of a Firearm, and Misdemeanor Assault and Battery on a Family/Household Member. He pled not guilty.

Fall River Reporter previously made a records request with the Fall River Police Department concerning Correia’s police report and the request was denied due to Massachusetts law that states that “all reports of abuse perpetrated by family or household members and all communications between police officers and victims of such offenses or abuse shall not be public reports and shall be maintained by the police departments in a manner that shall assure their confidentiality.”

Court records show that on March 5th of 2026, the Felony Witness Intimidation charge was dismissed by the judge.

On July 28th, 2026, a plea deal was filed and accepted by the court resulting in pretrial probation until September 1st without Correia issuing a plea.

Officer Correia and his partner, K9 Satu, graduated from the Bristol County Sheriff’s Office K9 academy in September of 2021.

The POST Commission issued a suspension order in July of 2024.
