Fall River Police officer pleads not guilty after allegedly forcibly entering home

A Fall River police officer who was arrested for allegedly trespassing after an incident at a local residence late last month has been arraigned.
A Fall River resident reported an unknown man banging on her door and asking for a woman by name. According to the Fall River Police Department, the man forcibly entered the home, continuing to inquire about the woman. After being told no one by that name lived there, he left on foot.
Police located the man, identified as an off duty Fall River police officer, half a block away, displaying signs of alcohol intoxication.
According to court records, Officer David Silvia III was arraigned Thursday on Breaking & Entering for a Misdemeanor and Improper Storage of a Firearm charges and pled not guilty. He was released on personal recognizance and has a pretrial hearing scheduled for August 19th.
