Fall River police net two city residents on drug distribution charges

On Tuesday, January 30th at approximately 4:00 p.m., the Vice and Intelligence detectives executed a search warrant at 1552 South Main Street apartment #1W in Fall River.  Detective Joshua Robillard was the lead detective and Jessica Sousa, 38, was the target.  Detective Robillard was assisted by Detectives Gary Barboza, Steven Washington, Luis Duarte, Tryce Garrant, Richard Aguiar, James Elumba, Athans Parousis and Detective Sergeant Andrew Joseph.

Prior to the execution of the search warrant, Jessica Sousa was observed seated in her Hyundai near the corner of Slade and South Main Streets. As Detectives watched her, a male approached her vehicle and entered the front passenger side. Detectives observed a hand to hand exchange of unknown items. At that time they approached the vehicle and detained Jessica Sousa. Detectives observed a ten dollar bill on the emergency brake handle as well as a crack pipe and a corner of a plastic bag which contained suspected cocaine on the side of the passenger seat. The male was removed from the vehicle and found to have in his possession two boxes of Suboxone sublingual films. Both boxes were open. A total of 99 films out of 120 were present. The prescription did not belong to the male who was identified as Robert Silvia, 52.

Detectives then made their way to 1552 South Main Street to execute the search warrant. Jessica Sousa produced suspected crack from her purse. Also located in her purse was a large sum of cash. Located within the residence were 31 Clonazepam, 5 ½ Alprazolam, 4 Lorazepam, and 2 Diazepam and sandwich bags consistent with those used in the packaging and sale of illegal narcotics.

Silvia was arrested and charged with Possession of a Class B Substance and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class B Substance.

Sousa was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class B Substance, Distribution of a Class B Substance, 4 counts of Possession of a Class C Substance, and Possession of a Class E Substance.
