Fall River Police looking for suspects after masked individuals strike man with gun, shot fired
One man was injured, and police are looking for several suspects after an incident on Sunday afternoon.
According to Det. Sergeant Moses Pereira, at just after 2:45 p.m., units responded to the 200 block of Lowell Street in response a report of a male in possession of a firearm.
Once on scene, officers located a man who indicated that he was approached by several masked individuals and was struck in the head with the butt of a firearm. At some point during the altercation, a single round was fired in a hallway, although no one was struck. The individuals then fled the area on foot.
The man who was struck in the head was transported to a local medical facility for evaluation.
The Crime Scene Unit and Major Crimes Division responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.
