The Fall River Police Department is investigating a reported weekend armed robbery of a convenience store in the city.
According to Deputy Chief Barden Castro, on Sunday, at approximately 9:30 p.m., officers responded to Discount Food Mart, 1501 Pleasant St., for a reported robbery.
Investigating officers learned that an individual entered the business wearing a mask and wielding a weapon while demanding money. It was reported that the suspect fled the area.

The incident has been referred to Major Crimes Division Detectives for investigation.
Castro stated that the department has limited details to release as the incident is actively being investigated and leads pursued.
