Fall River Police investigating dog attack, multiple people bitten
Fall River Police are currently investigating a dog attack incident from Tuesday.
According to Detective John Robinson, at approximately 12:00 p.m., City Officer James Elumba was dispatched to the area of Johnson Street and Sevigny Street to investigate reports of a loose dog that had attacked a dog and bitten several people.
Upon arrival, Officer Elumba learned that the owner of the dog was walking the dog on a leash on Johnson Street when his dog came into contact with a smaller dog in the area. The dog pulled away from the owner and broke the leash. Once the leash broke, it is believed that individuals were bitten attempting to break up the two dogs.
The owner of the bigger dog sustained a serious dog bite on his arm and was taken to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment for a non-life-threatening injury.
