Fall River Police investigating after argument over peanut butter cups leads to alleged gun threat
Fall River Police are investigating after a disagreement over candy Saturday led to an alleged gun threat.
According to Captain Barden Castro, at approximately 7:30 a.m., officers responded to New World Gas, 340 Milliken Boulevard, for an attempted shoplifting.
It was reported that a white man had entered the business and was observed trying to steal packages of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. The clerk was able to retrieve the merchandise from the the man while the man denied trying to steal the candy.
At some point during the back and forth between the clerk and the unknown male, the man indicated to the clerk that he had a handgun.
He then reportedly fled the business.
There were no reported injuries from the incident and leads are being followed by FRPD.
