Fall River police investigate stabbing, elderly purse snatching, armed home invasion

Fall River police are investigating three incidents that occurred yesterday in the city.

According to Detective John Robinson, at approximately 9:55 a.m. Monday, Uniformed Officers of the Fall River Police Department were dispatched to the 900 Block of North Main Street in response to a reported stabbing. On arrival, Officers observed a 26-year-old male lying on the ground bleeding from the chest. The victim told Officers that he had an argument with a group of people over money. At the conclusion of the argument, he walked away and was attacked while walking on North Main Street. The Victim was taken to a Rhode Island Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

At approximately 11:30 a.m., Uniformed Officers of the Fall River Police Department were dispatched to the 800 block of Second Street in response to a reported Unarmed Robbery of an elderly female according to Robinson.

At approximately 1:00 p.m., Uniformed Officers of the Fall River Police Department were dispatched to a Barnes Street apartment on a report of an Armed Robbery. On arrival, the victims, a 23-year-old male, and 24-year-old female, told Officers three males kicked in their apartment door and forced them to the floor while pointing black handguns at them. The female complainant told officers she was holding her 2-year-old child at the time.
