Fall River Police have two in custody after late night shots fired incident
Fall River Police responded to a late-night shooting, and it appears they have captured the suspects.
At approximately 11:30 p.m. Tuesday night, a call came in for shots fired in the area of Slade Street.
According to Acting Chief J.T. Hoar, Officers responded to the intersection of Slade and Scott. After speaking with witnesses and the victim, investigators determined that James Hickey, 36, allegedly fired three shots near the victim. The investigation also led to Dominique Starks, 34 who was also involved.
Thanks to the swift response of officers assigned to the Fall River Police Department’s Patrol Bureau, Hickey was located hiding inside a nearby residence.
Members of the Major Crimes Division assisted with the investigation, and after executing a search warrant, officers located and seized a firearm and ammunition.
Investigators also determined that Starks was allegedly involved in the incident and provided misleading statements in an attempt to help Hickey hide from police.
Hickey has had prior gun/drug charges and faces charges related to the Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and the Illegal Possession of a Firearm (Subsequent Offense). As well as an elevated charge of being previously convicted of a violent crime/drug crime.
Starks was charged with firearm possession violations and also misleading the police.
Both are expected to be arraigned in Fall River District Court.
No people were hit by the gun fire.
