Fall River Police Department welcomes 5 new officers to their ranks
The Municipal Police Training Committee Executive Director Colonel Rick Rathbun (Ret.) and Plymouth Academy Director Eileen Goodick have announced the graduation of 51 police officers from the MPTC Plymouth Police Academy’s 78th Recruit Officer Class including 5 from the Fall River Police Department.
The graduates successfully completed over 20 weeks of intensive, standardized training in all aspects of law enforcement and will now serve as full-time officers.
“The MPTC is committed to developing highly trained, professional and community-focused police officers who are prepared to meet the evolving challenges of modern policing.” said MPTC Executive Director Colonel Rick Rathbun (Ret.). “These graduates have demonstrated dedication, resilience, and a deep commitment to service. As they embark on their careers, we are confident that the cutting-edge standardized training they have received has equipped them with the skills and knowledge needed to uphold the highest standards of public safety. We commend them on this achievement and wish them a safe, successful, and fulfilling career ahead.”
According to Fall River Police, Danielo Mele, Aubree Thibeault, Yaris Rodriguez–Santiago, Devyn Vitorino, and Matthew Belben “will now transition into the Field Training & Evaluation Program, where over the next three months, they will work alongside experienced training officers. Upon passing the 3-month program, they will transition into a strict 9-month evaluation-driven phase of probation.”
The department recognized Lt. Joseph Galvao and Sgt. Frank Andrade for their leadership throughout the hiring process and their continued support during the academy.
“Their dedication has been instrumental in guiding these officers to this important milestone.”
