Fall River Police Department receives fifth re-accreditation award
According to FRPD, today, the Fall River Police Department received its fifth re-accreditation award at a ceremony held by the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Commission at the Andover Country Club.
The department went through an on-site assessment earlier this year where 257 Mandatory Standards were reviewed.
The Department is also required to comply with 88 out of 125 optional standards based on the size of the Fall River Police Department. The department ultimately complied with 107 of those standards.
The department has been accredited since 2007 and has successfully been reaccredited every 3-year cycle since.
Chief Gauvin also made remarks at the ceremony acknowledging the prestigious award and recognizing the hard work of Accreditation Manager Lieutenant J.T. Hoar and Accreditation Coordinator Palmira Aguiar.
The department also has the distinction of being internationally accredited since 2009 by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.
