Fall River Police Department, Father Rob, holding annual Guns For Groceries event this month
The Fall River Police Department and Father Rob are holding the annual Guns For Groceries event to help decrease gun injury and gun violence.
The program will offer grocery gift cards for guns – no questions asked.
Anyone returning a shotgun or long gun will receive a $75 gift card. Handguns returned will earn a $100 gift card. Several community partners are supporting the event.
The event is done, in part, to remember Rev. Dr. Robert Lawrence who was an important part of the gun buyback program until his passing on October 2nd in 2018.
Father Rob Nemkovich will be working with and supporting the FRPD once again in this program.
Guns for Groceries will take place Saturday, November 19th at Blessed Trinity Church, 1340 Plymouth Ave. Fall River from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Guns for groceries?
So, we bring groceries and we get guns? This a Thanksgiving food drive thing? Because i have some canned goods i’d gladly trade for a gun…
It should be “groceries for guns” if they’re trying to do it the other way around. I mean, it figures that a poorly conceived program would have a poorly written advertisement.
That’s ok, i’m sure anyone dumb enough to trade in a working, functional firearm isn’t out here critiquing english grammar.
On an unrelated note…. time to go to home depot… 😉 IYKYK
