Fall River Police Department evacuates nearby residents as they deal with man in crisis

Police are currently on scene of a standoff in Fall River.

According to police, overnight, the Fall River Police Department responded to a residence on Langley Street for a report of a male in crisis.

Upon arrival, officers established a secure perimeter and, out of an abundance of caution, safely evacuated nearby residents.

The department’s Emergency Services Unit was activated to ensure a coordinated and secure intervention with a crisis negotiator.

At this time, the situation remains very active. Police are asking the public to avoid the area to ensure that the scene and investigation continue unhindered.
