Fall River Police Department announces traffic impacts, parking for Day of Portugal
The Fall River Police Department wants to inform you about the traffic impacts due to the Day of Portugal Celebration happening from Thursday, June 6 through Sunday, June 9 at the Gates of the City (Ponta Delgada Blvd). Please be aware of the following changes:
Street Closures During the event:
Ponta Delgada Blvd will be closed at the Water Street Connector Ramp. Diverting traffic southbound.
Water Street will be closed at the intersection of Anawan Street.
No Parking:
There will be no parking allowed on Water Street/Ponta Delgada Blvd and the Gates of the City starting Wednesday, June 5.
Handicap Parking During Event: Available at the top of Ferry Street at Ponta Delgada Blvd.
Expect increased vehicular and pedestrian traffic in the area due to the event.
Parking Options with Shuttle Service:
FRPD encourages attendees to use the designated free parking lots with a shuttle service running every 25-35 minutes. Shuttle service locations are marked with a star on the provided list. Here are the available parking lots:
