Fall River Police Department announces 6th Reaccreditation Award, 9 new officers

The Fall River Police Department made two announcements Friday on their social media.

According to the department, on Wednesday, the Accreditation Team lead by Deputy Chief J.T. Hoar, Lieutenant Joe Galvao, Sergeant Frank Andrade, and Accreditation Coordinator Palmira Aguiar accepted the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Commission 6th Reaccreditation Award.

Fall River first earned MPAC Certification in 2006 and achieved Full Accreditation in 2007.

The department also announced 9 new police officers to their ranks after successfully completing over 20 weeks of training at the academy.

They will now begin the next phase of their journey through field training, where they’ll continue to learn and grow alongside experienced officers in real-world policing scenarios.

The names of the officers were not released.
