Fall River Police charge 52-year-old city man accused of illegal dumping
A Fall River man is facing charges after alleged illegal dumping in the city.
According to police, on Monday, Officer William Medeiros of the Environmental Unit was notified of an illegal dumping incident near the Watuppa Pond / Wilson Rd Causeway. Despite receiving the information while off duty, Officer Medeiros immediately coordinated with Officer Nelson Brum to begin investigating.
Using video surveillance technology, the officers identified a suspect vehicle and located footage clearly showing the pickup truck carrying patio furniture and a pool liner, items identical to those dumped at the site.
During the investigation, 52-year-old Daryl Parrent of Fall River reportedly offered to “make this right” by returning to clean up the items he illegally discarded, but FRPD was not having it.
The Department asks all citizens and visitors to the BioReserve and Reservation area: if you see something suspicious, say something. Please contact FRPD at 508-676-8511 or submit an anonymous tip by calling 508-672-TIPS (8477).
“We also want to warn anyone considering illegal dumping in Fall River: we will find you, you will be criminal charged.”
