Fall River Police Athletic League hosting 56th Golden Gloves Tournament
The Police Athletic League of Fall River, Incorporated, is hosting the 56th Southern New England Golden Gloves Boxing Tournament. The annual event will take place at the P.A.L. Hall, located at 31 Franklin Street, in Fall River.
To date 50 boxers have registered. The athletes come from throughout southern New England. Participants range in age from 16 to 34 years old. There will be approximately 10 bouts nightly.
The 2019 schedule consists of preliminaries, Saturday, January 12, semi-finals, Saturday, January 19, and finals, Saturday, January 26.
Tickets may be purchased in advance by calling 508-636-6173. Ticket sales will also be available at the door on a first come first serve basis. Prices are $25.00 for January 12 and January 19, and $30.00 for the finals on January 26. Further information may be obtained by contacting Deputy Police Chief Charles J. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the first bout is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.. There will be alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available at the bar along with food from our snack bar.
