Fall River Police arrest two city men Tuesday on various charges
Fall River Police arrested two city men on multiple charges Tuesday.
According to Detective John Robinson, at approximately 10:30 p.m. Officers of the Fall River Police Department’s Special Operations Divisions Housing Unit were dispatched to the Father Diaferio Housing Complex (220 Johnson Street) in response to an ‘unwanted party’ situation.
Upon their arrival in the complex, Officers Shane Galus and Jonathan Ferreira observed a male known to them as 20 year old Keyante Lamark Mills. Mills was walking with an unidentified male. Mills has been told not to trespass on Fall River Housing Authority property unless invited by a resident. As Officers Galus and Ferreira approached to inquire about his presence within the complex, both males abruptly turned to avoid contact with the Officers.
When the Officers called out to Mills, they observed the unidentified male clutching his waistband as if he was concealing a heavy object. As Officers got within twenty feet, the unidentified male turned the corner of a building and ran. Believing the male to be in possession of a weapon, Officer Galus followed and observed the unidentified male throw a black handgun down on the front steps of a building.
Officer Galus called out the location of the weapon and continued after the unidentified male until he eventually caught him several buildings away. Sgt. Keith Strong arrived and assisted with the male, now identified as 21-year-old Peter Quinones. Officer Galus returned to the front steps of the building and located the weapon, a .380 caliber semi-automatic handgun.
Quinones of 100 Green Street Apt. 406 was taken into custody on charges of:
• Carrying a Firearm without a License
• Possession of Ammunition without an FID card
• Trespass
• Disorderly Conduct
• Disturbing the peace
• Resisting Arrest
Also taken into custody by Officer Frank Andrade:
Mills of 246 Quequechan Street apt #2 on charges of:
• Trespassing
• Possession of more than an ounce of Marijuana
