Fall River Police arrest suspect in Plymouth Avenue stabbing
Fall River Police have arrested a suspect in the stabbing that took place Sunday evening.
As a result of the investigation conducted in to the stabbing last night in the 1100 block of Plymouth Ave. it was determined that 24-year-old Chance Costa was the suspect.
According to Captain Barden Castro, today, Detectives assigned to the Major Crime Division were able to locate Costa and after a foot chase were able to place him under arrest.
Costa was captured in the area of Jefferson and McGee Streets.
It has been learned that Costa and the victim are acquaintances. The victim suffered numerous stab wounds to his torso and was in critical condition last night.
Fall River Police have learned that the victim is now in stable condition and conscious.
Preliminary charges against Costa are Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon Causing Substantial Injury and Armed Assault to Murder.
