The Fall River Police Department has charged a man on a drug trafficking charge.
According to police, Tuesday evening, CAST executed a search warrant in the 500 block of South Main Street. The target was known by an alias, but has since been tentatively identified as 44-year-old Ramon Pimentel Mejia, who had previously been deported by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and has since re-entered and been residing unlawfully within the United States.

Pimentel Mejia was encountered outside of a residence on South Main Street and was found to be in possession of over 29 grams of suspected crack cocaine, individually packaged for distribution. Also seized during the execution of the search warrant were $4,483 in cash and a substantial quantity of an unknown powdery substance, which has been submitted for testing.
Pimentel Mejia was arrested and booked on the charge of Trafficking in Cocaine (Over 18 Grams)
Due to uncertainties regarding his true identity and immigration status, Pimentel Mejia was held without bail.
