Fall River Police arrest city teen on several gun charges, resisting arrest

A Fall River teen is facing several firearm charges.

According to Det. Sergeant Moses Pereira, on Thursday, Detectives assigned to the Vice, Gang, and Intelligence Unit executed a search warrant at an address located on the 100 block of Eighteenth Street.

The target of the search warrant was, 18-year-old, Jovanni Rivera. During the execution of the search warrant, detectives located a loaded Sig Sauer p320 pistol. Rivera, who does not possess a license to carry was placed under arrest and charged with possession of a large capacity firearm, possession of a firearm without an FID card, possession of ammunition without an FID card, receiving stolen property, and resisting arrest.

A trace of the serial number revealed that the firearm had been reported stolen.

This investigation was led by Det. Lauren Fiola under the supervision of Det. Sgt. William Falandys.
