Fall River Police arrest city man on drug and armed robbery charges after incident
A Fall River man is facing armed robbery and drug charges after a weekend arrest.
According to Det. Sergeant Moses Pereira, at just after midnight on Sunday, Officers responded to the area of Speedway at 175 Milliken Boulevard after receiving a report of an armed robbery.
Upon arrival, Officers located a 34-year-old male who indicated he had been robbed by an individual who brandished a knife.
Shortly thereafter, Officers located a group of males on South Main Street, one of which matched the description provided by the victim. The subsequent investigation led to the identification of 40-year-old Brandon Medeiros as the individual responsible for the robbery. Medeiros’ was then taken into custody for the armed robbery and assault with a dangerous weapon.
While being transported to the Fall River Police Department for booking, Pereira stated that Medeiros attempted to discard a small plastic bag containing what is suspected to be cocaine and fentanyl. He was also charged with two counts of possession of a Class A Drug.
