Fall River Police arrest 41-year-old on multiple charges after morning crash into city daycare
Fall River Police arrested a man on multiple charges after an incident early this morning.
According to police, at approximately 12:45 a.m., Officers from the Patrol Bureau – A Division responded to a report of a vehicle into the building.
Upon arrival, officers located 41-year-old Eric Brasidio seated inside the vehicle, which was not parked in a designated parking spot.
The investigation revealed that Brasidio had initially struck a fire hydrant at the intersection of Pleasant Street and Seventh Street, leaving behind a license plate. After blowing out a tire, he continued driving on the rim until reaching Kinder Care, where he made his final stop.
Brasidio, who appeared intoxicated, failed field sobriety tests and was subsequently placed under arrest.
He was charged with Operating Under the Influence (Alcohol), Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Leaving the Scene of Property Damage, and Marked Lanes Violation.
Brasidio was treated at a local hospital before being transported to the Fall River Police Department. The Fall River Building Inspector and the Water Department were notified and responded due to structural and infrastructure concerns caused by the incident.
The daycare was not occupied, and no injuries resulted, however the business is currently closed.
At Thursday arraignment, Brasidio pled not guilty and was released on personal recognizance with a pretrial hearing scheduled for August.
