Fall River Police arrest 33-year-old woman accused of Assault to Murder against co-worker

Fall River Police have arrested a woman accused of an outburst against a fellow co-worker.

According to police, on Thursday, Fall River Police responded to a disturbance aboard an American Cruise Lines ship at City Port Authority on Water Street.

A recently terminated employee, 33-year-old Shatericka Turman, allegedly assaulted a co-worker with a letter opener, causing a minor forehead injury. Another employee sustained a small lip cut while intervening.

Crew members restrained Turman until officers arrived.

Officers detained Turman and interviewed the staff who witnessed the altercation. Surveillance footage captured the assault.

Turman was arrested for Assault to Murder, Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon and Assault and Battery.

According to court records, at Friday’s arraignment, Turman pled not guilty and was ordered committed to Bristol County House of Correction in lieu of having posted bail in the amount of $50,000 bond; $5,000 cash, returnable on Tuesday for a hearing to review status.
