Fall River Police arrest 33-year-old city man on several gun charges

Fall River Police made an arrest over the weekend involving several gun charges.

According to police, during a follow-up investigation into an incident that occurred this past Sunday in the 200 block of Ames Street, members of the Community Action & Suppression Team (C.A.S.T.) assisted the Patrol Bureau in executing a search warrant.

Detective Christopher Teves applied for and was granted search warrants for a residence and vehicle.

As a result, a .308 AR10 rifle was seized from a residence and a Glock 19 was seized from the center console of a vehicle, both of which were collected and processed by the Crime Scene Unit.

33-year-old Jonathan Spears was charged with multiple violations of Massachusetts firearms laws, to included two counts of Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, three counts of Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, and two counts of Possession of Ammunition no FID/LTC.

PD stated that the investigation and arrest was the result of teamwork and collaboration between the two divisions.
