Fall River Police arrest 2 on gun charges after multiple firearms seized in incident allegedly involving ski-masks
Fall River Police arrested two over the weekend on gun charges after an incident.
According to police, on Saturday evening, officers from the Patrol Bureau responded to a report of juveniles wearing ski-masks displaying a firearm from a second-floor apartment on Center Street.
Upon arrival, officers observed a juvenile exiting the building. After being approached by police, the juvenile attempted to flee. After a brief pursuit, officers followed the juvenile into the second-floor apartment and were granted entry by the resident. Once inside, the officers were directed to the bedroom where multiple juveniles were located.
Given the nature of the call, officers detained the individuals and conducted pat-frisks. One juvenile was found in possession of a loaded Smith & Wesson Shield 9mm handgun. With written consent from the resident, officers conducted a search of the bedroom, where a second loaded firearm, a Glock 22 .40 caliber handgun, was located concealed among clothing. Another juvenile admitted ownership of the second firearm. Both individuals were determined to be underage (16 and 17 years old) and not legally permitted to possess firearms. Both firearms were loaded with ammunition.
The scene was secured, and members of the Major Case Division and Crime Scene Unit responded to process and document the evidence. The firearms were collected, and two juveniles were arrested and charged with possession of a firearm without a license and possession of a loaded firearm without a license along with additional related offenses.
FRPD released the following statement after the arrests:
