Fall River Police and Fire Departments teaming up for Ryder Cup-style charity golf tournament
FALL RIVER — The Fall River Police Department and Fall River Fire Department are joining forces to host a Ryder Cup-style charity golf tournament on Saturday, May 4, 2026, at the Fall River Country Club.
The event is designed as a morale-building and team-building opportunity for members of both departments. Organizers say it will give first responders a chance to step away from their daily duties, compete in a friendly but spirited environment, and strengthen relationships between the two agencies.
In addition to the camaraderie and friendly competition, the tournament will have a meaningful charitable purpose. All proceeds raised will be donated to a nonprofit organization that supports veterans. The specific beneficiary is still being finalized, but officials say the funds will directly benefit those who have served the country.
To make the event possible, the departments are seeking community support to help cover the operational costs, which include greens fees and the post-round luncheon. The total estimated cost to host the tournament is $5,000.
Donations can be made payable to the Fall River Police Relief Association.
