Fall River Ocean State Job Lot has grand opening, gives to local charities

Ocean State Job Lot, a leading discount closeout retailer headquartered in Rhode Island with stores throughout New England, New Jersey, and New York, celebrated the relocation grand opening of its Fall River, Massachusetts store located at 465 William S. Canning Boulevard. This 40,000 sq. ft. location, a former Shaw’s, is Ocean State Job Lot’s 50th location in the state, and replaces its 360 Rhode Island Avenue location. The store’s arrival brings an additional 15-20 jobs and restores vibrancy to this previously-vacant retail location.

Ocean State Job Lot hosted a grand opening celebration Saturday that included a ribbon-cutting ceremony officiated by Mayor Jasiel Correia, Ocean State Job Lot executives and Fall River Store Manager Adam Cadrin. The Ocean State Job Lot Charitable Foundation presented two $500 donations to its “Close to Our Heart” recipients: Holly’s Angels, a nonprofit created in memory of the store manager Adam Cadrin’s wife, which provides gifts and donations to local shelters, books to children, food and clothing to the impoverished children and families of Fall River; and Family Service Association’s Family Resource Center. The Charitable Foundation also donated a pallet of food to the Fall River food pantry.
