Fall River native Jae Lavoie announces initiative to help city’s youth; kickoff will feature free ice cream, live music
A Fall River native is expanding his outreach to local youth.
Jeremy (Jae) Lavoie, a successful New York fashion designer, has remained deeply connected to the Scholarship City. That connection will continue with his new endeavor, Bridge the Gap – Fall River’s Youth Movement.
Founded by Lavoie and Andrea Biszko, Bridge the Gap’s goal is to support, mentor, and empower the next generation.
Lavoie says he wants to start the summer off right.
“While the city continues to overlook our youth, we’re choosing action. This program is completely self-funded, powered by our own commitment and resources, because the future of our city deserves more. I want to save my city. I have the people so I’m going to really make this program something nobody has seen. If I can use my resources and create opportunities, I can save lives.”
According to Lavoie, Bridge the Gap will host family-focused events, offer young parent support, and supply job readiness & life skills.
“Let’s Bridge the Gap—together.”
Their first event will be held at Britland Park on Sunday, June 29th from 12-3 PM. The event will feature live music and free ice cream and is open to all.
