A Fall River man accused of murdering another man has been held without bail.

Rayquan Robinson, 23, of Rodman Street is charged with murder, attempted assault and battery by means of a firearm, carrying an illegal firearm and carrying a loaded illegal firearm concerning the death of 22-year-old Jake Williams.

According to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, Robinson was arraigned via videoconference this afternoon in Fall River District Court and was held without bail by the judge.

Fall River Police responded around 11:25 a.m. Wednesday to 911 calls regarding a shooting in the area of Mott Street and Warren Street. When first responders arrived on scene, they located the victim and rushed him to St. Anne’s Hospital, where Williams was pronounced deceased.

Robinson and Williams were friends at one point according to friends, but that had changed. Yesterday, Robinson allegedly opened fire on Williams while Williams was driving his vehicle.

Multiple bullet holes could be seen in the car’s windshield after the shooting.

Fall River Police, Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the district attorney’s office and Homicide Unit prosecutors continue to actively investigate the shooting, which occurred late Wednesday morning in Fall River.
