Fall River mother looking for answers after 21-year-old son gunned down while on vacation
A Fall River woman is still looking for answers after her son died while vacationing in another country.
On June 30th, 2022, 21-year-old Luis Miguel passed away in a hospital minutes after being shot during an alleged assault in the El Vallado neighborhood of Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico.
Miguel was reportedly stopped by two men who demanded his belongings.
Despite Miguel handing over his property, one of the men shot him several times at close range and then fled.
Paramedics provided first aid to Miguel and transported him to the hospital where he later died due to gunshots to his neck, abdomen and back.
Five shell casings were located at the scene.
He was a graduate of Durfee High School and was working at the Amazon facility on Innovation Way.
Luis’ mother Rosanna told Fall River Reporter that she still has no answers regarding her son’s death or suspects involved and has received no help.
“My son’s death has been left unresolved, as if he were an animal. The justice system did nothing to help me find out why he was killed. I’ve been very sad all this time, going through all these things without being able to do anything.”
Rosanna stated that her son was a good kid just having fun in Mexico.
After the murder, the community came together and through a GoFundMe fundraiser, raised $6,000 for his transport and services.
